10 Things I Don’t Like About Books

girlbooksopen3

  1. They end. There are some of them, seriously, that I want to go on forever.
  2. You can’t read them while you sleep. If someone could figure out a device that could help me do this, I’d be happy forever.
  3. They can be chewed up by puppies, unless they are electronic books.
  4. Electronic books end too soon when the device hasn’t been charged in a while. (Don’t you hate that?!)
  5. When they are made into movies, it never is how you picture it.
  6. They don’t come with clear guidelines for use. (Too often teachers and parents take the fun out of books by forcing them on kids instead of teaching them out to fall in love with stories.)
  7. You have to hold them. (We need books that hover before we need cars that hover.)
  8. They don’t always live up to their covers.
  9. Sometimes they have covers that don’t do them justice.
  10. They are heavy for your friends to move, but good friends understand.

I was chuckling along as I read this list!! I agree totally on every one of them!!! I have been known to stay up reading because I couldn’t stop reading until I finished the book.

Love this, Tricia! Added a bundle of laughter to my day. Thanks, doll.

I agree — especially with #2. All those hours “wasted” sleeping could certainly help me make a dent in my infinitely large to-be-read pile! 🙂

If we could figure out a device to help with this we’d be millionaires!

RE: electronic books. I hate it when I think I have another 10% to read and it turns out it’s really promo for the author’s next book. I’m happy to know what their next book is, but sad it ended earlier than I thought.

      That’s happened to me, too!
