Defend Your Faith with Jesse Florea

Does the word “apologetics” scare you? I shouldn’t. The word apologetics comes from the Greek word apologia, which refers to a speech of defense, typically for one’s own self. When we study apologetics we are learning why we believe what we believe. This is important for everyone, especially kids.

“Apologetics is an amazing evangelistic tool,” says today’s guest Jesse Florea. “It’s the Holy Spirit who softens people’s hearts to the truth of the gospel, but by studying the evidence and facts for Christianity, a person seeking the truth can gain even more confidence in his or her decision to follow Christ. Becoming a Christian takes faith and belief. Apologetics makes that belief much stronger because it’s built on facts.”

Establishing a foundation in apologetics early on may also help guard against the church drift many young adults who grow up in church experience as they get older. Today Jesse talks about an amazing resource for kids. I know you’re going to love it!

Who is Jesse Florea?

Jesse Florea has worked at Focus on the Family for nearly 20 years. For more than 15, he’s been the editor of Focus on the Family Clubhouse. He earned bachelor’s and master’s degrees in communications from Wheaton College in Illinois.

Jesse served as the general editor for the CSB Defend Your Faith Bible, an apologetics Bible for kids. He is co-author of The Case for Christ for Kids and The Case for Christ for Kids 90-Day Devo with Lee Strobel. Jesse has been a contributor to LifeWay’s Stand Firm magazine for more than a decade.
