#WalkItOut Podcast 62: Dave Donaldson author of new book City Service
On today’s episode of the #WalkItOut Podcast, we’re chatting with Dave Donaldson about serving your city!

#WalkItOut Podcast 62: Dave Donaldson & Wendell Vinson

You know that anything that has to do with serving our community — reaching out to those in need, loving on foster kids, really gets me excited. When Dave and Wendell’s book, City Serve: Your Guide to Church-Based Compassion, came across my desk, I knew I had to chat with them on the podcast.

When my girls were in foster care, there were so many that told them they would never be adopted — that there would never be one to take the chance, to take the plunge and invite them into their home. I think that is the case with so much today. Whether it’s adopting foster kids, serving the homeless, helping with the widow and orphan ministry. There are all these people out in the world that are just wanting to be loved and cared for. That why I’m so excited about City Serve! It shares how the church can act with compassion. We can’t change the world from the moment we step out the door, but we can take one step and then another, and our steps and compassion will begin to change the world.

I pray that you’re going to be blessed by my conversation with Dave and his co-author Wendell! You can listen above or on iTunes! I’d love it if you shared with your friends!

John 12:24

I assure you and most solemnly say to you, unless a grain of wheat falls into the earth and dies, it remains alone [just one grain, never more]. But if it dies, it produces much grain and yields a harvest.
